Saints back to winning ways

Audlem Saints U9s returned to winning ways on Sunday with a well earned 4-0 victory over Wistaston. The last two games had each been lost 1-0 and the first period of this game followed a similar pattern. Audlem dominated but could not turn that into goals. However, in the very last attack of the period, the Audlem striker sent a low hard shot into the corner of the net. Settled by this goal,the second period was more relaxed and Audlem played some wonderful passing football. The same player who had been the architect of the first goal went on to create each of 3 goals in the period. Having established a 4-0 lead, Audlem continued to press and enjoyed the game with skilful touches and new tricks being tried out.

The victory leaves Audlem in third place but with a game in hand. Victory in that game would see Audlem go joint top of the league. Next week the boys take on Betley – 12.45 kick off.
