There are going to be a number of roadworks in the vicinity of Audlem over the next couple of weeks of which residents might like to be aware.
Starting this week there will be traffic lights on Coole Lane whilst a bridge replacement is undertaken, this is likely to continue until the end of March.
The traffic lights on the damaged Whitchurch Road river bridge on the western edge of the village will continue to be in place.
There will be temporary lights on the A529 today (10th February) whilst BT carry out maintenance to overhead lines between Swanbach and Adderley. BT will also have traffic controls in place on the A529 on 12th February but this time in the centre of Swanbach.
The main highways issue is not in Audlem but the diversion route is through the centre of the village. The A51 London Road is going to be closed from the middle of Stapeley (the junction with Elwood Way) down to Woore every day next week between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Cheshire East Highways are going to be repairing and re-marking the road as well as undertaking other maintenance such as gully clearing. There will be access arrangements for residents and for businesses on the closed section of road and buses that run along this road will be escorted through the roadworks. However through traffic will be diverted along the A529 and A525 via the centre of Audlem as this is the closest A road route available.
Finally Longhill Lane is due to be closed on 23rd February between Moblake Farm and Meadowbank Cottage for the maintenance of overhead power lines.
