Roads Update

The Woore road is most definitely shut – more cones and orange barriers than the editor has seen in a while!

The pipeline is initially coming across land to the Woore road by the old methodist chapel (now a private house). There is now a channel in the road from there that reaches close to Chapel End. About half of this channel already has pipe that has been concreted about 3ft deep.

Still no start yet on Paddock Lane – it seems that a full week is booked to give the contractor some 'leeway'.50 involves

However there is currently plenty of disruption on Bagley Lane and Wood Orchard Lane – it seems there is a fairly major electricity upgrade of transformers, wires and poles underway.

The wires are being replaced with aluminium ones – the old ones were steel and prone to breaking – some may recall the fire that was started at a property on Wood Orchard Lane by such an occurrence.

Disruption to supply avoided by standby generators – 6 of them.

It is also interesting to note how many people are involved in these works – the editor estimates up to 50 on each of the 2 activities underway.
