With floods across many parts of the country, the River Weaver's flood plain near Audlem was hard at work yesterday.

Our photos show the river, hard to detect with so much water spreading over the fields, but with moody reflections in the winter solstice light.

Dave Martin adds: "The River Weaver has disappeared! The attached pictures taken this morning in the December murk clearly show the river has gone and a lake has appeared.

"We're waiting for Noah and his ark to appear, but he has no chance of getting under the Whitchurch Road bridge! Hopefully he won't crash into it and dislodge yet more parapet stones for Cheshire East to replace."

A reminder too that the new-look AudlemOnline gives detailed weather forecasts for the coming five days as well as a record of weather over the the previous twenty days.

Simply click on the weather symbol (it could be cloud, sun or whatever depending on the forecast for the day) near the top left of the Homepage beneath the date and that will bring up full details.
