Rest of the world cut off from Audlem

(The website link that was here no longer works) Call us parochial but the headline couldn't be resisted! A snap overnight snowfall stopped virtually all traffic early this morning. Vehicles were just about making it up the slope on Stafford Street by the church wall but then the first snow plough arrived and, since 8.30am, grit has improved the driving conditions. Holmes Bank could be busy today as 2010 Winter Olympics hopefuls get in some practice on their tea trays.
