Sunday Remembrance Service

The service was conducted by Anne Draper.

Fortunately the weather was kind, in spite of the early morning cold and mist – once upon a time considered mandatory for a remembrance service.

Many wreaths were laid – too many for me to remember, but including cubs, brownies and the Saints (football). Parish Council Chairman James McGregor and local Cheshire East Councilor Rachel Bailey also laid wreaths.

Part of Anne's service poignantly listed local people who had fallen in World Wars I and II; local family names were identifiable.

The collection was for the Royal British Legion.

Anne was kind enough to thank Audlem Online for the live broadcast as well as TechMedia, who certainly by far were responsible for the event broadcast. There was a lot of equipment involved, and we trust the 2 guys in the parked van weren't too cold.

There were some 220 AudlemOnline sessions watching the service, and a further 116 on Facebook. (Figures from John Gunstone).
