Relatives of Herbert Broomfield

It was interesting to hear about Herbert Broomfield (Audlem Online news stories in early May 2009 about the Audlem-born footballer who played for both Manchester United and Manchester City).

My husband's Grandfather was born at Audlem in 1836, Richard Bromfield or Broomfield. The parents were John and Catherine (nee Humphreyson), married at Ightfield on 30/12/1814.

John and Catherine had several children – Thomas (later father of the footballer, Herbert Broomfield) John, Eliza, Richard (my husband's grandfather), Henry,and Harriet, born between,1816 and 1836.

In 1851 they were all living in Nantwich Road, Hankelow. I think therefore that Herbert Broomfield would be my husband's father's (he was called Seymour Bromfield) first cousin.
