Rapid progress on Scout & Guide Hall work

Work on the Scout & Guide Hall in Cheshire Street is going ahead at a considerable pace. Work started just over 2 weeks ago and already there is a new floor, the windows have been replaced and most of the work on the plumbing and heating is well under way.

This week sees a new suspended ceiling fitted, the plastering finished and some decoration started. The outside work, which includes pointing and the frontage, will follow.

The work is the first major refit of the Hall since it was built in 1840. It is hoped that the work will be featured in the BBC TV programme on Audlem to be broadcast on 23rd August (reported today below).
