Quiz Night for Audlem FC

To those of you who were with us last night at the Lord Combermere for the special Quiz Night in aid of the newly formed Audlem Football Ceam (of which I am Chairman), my sincere thanks.

We will have around £400 once I get all auction money in – and this figure covers the charges made by Cheshire East Council to have the grass cut and the pitch marked out for the season – even though the grass does not get cut now until next spring! 

The charged atmosphere in the Lord C was very high and lots of laughter. My only booboo was over the Mull of Kintyre when I admit now I had the decade wrong. 

Our next big Charity night is all in aid of the superb St Luke's Hospice and raffle prizes etc would be most welcome. This is on the 23rd October. Do try to be with us for another fun night. And for this noble cause. 

It is now some 12 years since I began the quiz nights – across three pubs. I must say that the Lord C is by far the best of all and Jo & Allan truly deserve their plaudits for the great suppers. 

We are now building funds from the team fees etc with the aim of having a great Christmas buffet on the 11/12/12 – all free of course to Quizzers (cost will be c£500).
