turnpike field

Ian & Isobel Sykes sent the following message to AudlemOnline

Our much loved puppy Max was playing on turnpike field last night when a large dog scared him so much, he got loose and ran for his life.
Very sadly he ran into the road by the canal bridge exit from the field and got hit by a car, which sped away without stopping.
The owner of the large dog must have heard Max's cries, but failed to help and the car driver also failed to stop and help.
We are very sorry to cause the driver any stress, but by driving off and leaving Max in the road we can only presume the driver has very little thought and care.
Ian carried him back home, some 500yds and Max had emergency support from our Vet last night and although he pulled through during the night, he has to be transported today to a Veterinary hospital in Liverpool for further treatment.
We are obviously very upset and traumatised by this event and very amazed and sorry no one came to his aid.

All we can hope, is that Max pulls through and can enjoy playing in the field again.
