The APHAx Committee are pleased to be able to announce that the Planning Application for the new Annexe proposed for the Public Hall has now been submitted. The plans have been registered as application number 14/5765N, with a target response date of February 5th.
An artist's impression of how the Annexe might look is shown here (the "Audlem Hub" sign is the artist's invention).
It is hoped that the bulk of the funding (some £650,000 altogether) will come from the Big Lottery Fund. The application for this funding has already passed stage 1 successfully, and a stage 2 bid (there are three stages altogether) is to be submitted by February 15th 2015.
The process of preparing for planning and getting the project to a stage 2 application has been funded by the HCA Community Led Project Support funding programme.
If all goes well and the funding is obtained, then the main building will take place during 2016, with the Annexe being open for business by the end of that year.
This has been achieved without reducing the available parking space in the car park, although the bins will have to be re-sited.
In January 2015 the first steps will be taken to re-forming the Youth Club who will be just one of the village organisations to benefit from the Annexe.
