Audlem and District Probus Club members and guests took to the road early ( for them) at 8.30am Tuesday 23rd October bound for Liverpool and the World Museum to the see the exhibition of the Chinese Terracotta Warriors.

The exhibition provided a fascinating view of life in China nearly 2500 years ago and spanning 1000 years of Chinese history under the Qin and Han Dynasties who had a strong belief in the afterlife such that they had made large numbers of Terracota Warriors, other artifacts and even craftsmen and concubines to be buried with them to provide and protect their afterlife.

A truly fascinating exhibition tour which then was followed by a free afternoon in the Albert Dock/ Liverpool 1 area of central Liverpool. Some members chose a leisurely afternoon over lunch, wine and good friends, others chose to visit the Maritime and Liverpool Museum, and others chose to wander around Liverpool1.

Whatever the choice a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all in spite of the gales blowing down the Mersey. Our grateful thanks must be given to Jerry Sullivan, Social Secretary for the organisation and Happy Holidays Coaches for navigating the M6 without delay.
