Preparations for the Big Switch On








With the the Big Switch On date of the 25th November approaching, ADAS would like to share the timings and dates of the activities leadings up to and including the event. See the list below for details.
Ed – apologies to ADAS for late publication, the first of these is actually today.
As always we are looking for volunteers to help with the various activities. We know that the start and end times of the activities don't always fit with your circumstances, but any time you can give will be appreciated. This year we have moved the erection of the small Christmas trees to the Saturday in order for more people to enjoy the festive experience, so if you have time it will be great to see you.
Monday 14th November.
Flags and poles will be taken down.
- meet at Buttermarket at 10.00
- tools – ladders, wheelbarrows and snips to cut cableties
Wednesday & Thursday 16th & 17th November
Small tree dressing will be 09.30 – 12.00 and 13.00 to 15.30
- meet at Churchfield barns
- tools – snips, Santa hats not compulsory.
- any time people can give to help dress trees is appreciated, recognising not everyone can start or finish at those times.
Friday 18th November
Big Christmas tree will be cut down and erected starting at 09.30
- traffic Marshalls required from 10.00 to 11.00'ish in the square
Also on the 18th, we will be cabling a number of locations
- meet at Buttermarket at 11.00
- tools – ladders and snips
Saturday 19th November
We will be erecting the small Christmas trees
- meet at Churchfields barns at 09.30
- tools – ladders, wheelbarrows and snips
Friday 25th November
We will be dressing the Buttermarket and Santa's grotto and then hold the Big Switch On event
- meet at Buttermarket at 10.00 for location dressing
- meet at Buttermarket at 17.00 for marshalling
Santa Bookings
The Santa Booking system will be open on Friday 18th November at 16.00. Details will be published on Audlem Online and social media sites.
