£16,000 raised by Audlem charity

The Audlem Aid for Cancer Research UK has succeeded in collecting its highest yearly amount of money yet. Secretary Christine Plume and manager Ann Bowles, with their fellow voluntary workers, have raised a whopping £16,000. The money was collected by selling clothes, books and old records. The Audlem Aid shop has been open for more than 30 years and is run entirely by volunteers. Christine Plume said: "We were delighted to donate such a large amount of money. It is a record for us so we are very proud."
