Regular readers will be aware of the problems with Cheshire East's website which has been rejecting residents' comments about the Gladman development proposal at Little Heath on the northern edge of Audlem.

Other readers have asked about posting comments using the traditional method and, if so, where to send them. The answer, we are informed by Audlem Parish Council, is:

Development Management
PO Box 606
Municipal Building
Earle Street
Crewe
CW1 2BJ

If you do submit by post you must take care to include all necessary information or your comment may be declared invalid.

Your comments should include:
Your full name, address and post code.
The planning reference (in this case) 13/2224N
The site address (which in this case is):
Land west of Audlem Road
Audlem
Cheshire
CW3 0HE
State if you support the proposal, object to the proposal or wish to make a general observation
Say if you are a business, local group, member of the public, councillor, neighbour, relative, adjacent landowner or specify any other role.
Add your comment.

Comments can be either typed or hand-written and can posted, with or without recorded delivery, depending on how you feel about this whole saga. Whether, given all the problems so far and the council's workload, the written comments will ever make it on to the Cheshire East website, who knows. All we do know is that all seems to have been stacked against residents so far in this process.

How many might have tried to post a comment yesterday and had it refused? The trouble is, nobody will know how many have tried and simply given up – and worse still, won't try again. It may be handful, it may not.

Maybe the time is approaching when, because of delays in posting the original proposals for a month, and now glitches that may have prevented residents commenting yesterday, the whole process should start from a new date. Given Gladman's love of exploiting loopholes, at least they would be receiving an unwelcome dose of their own medicine.
