Police to the rescue

PC Ken Maple reports: "One of my colleagues was driving through the village today behind a milk tanker which was on Shropshire Street, heading towards Whitchurch. As the unfortunate tanker driver squeezed through the narrow gap by the Methodist Church, where cars were parked on the Church side of the road, it clipped one of the parked vehicles.

"The tanker driver was unaware of what had happened until he was pulled over in Green Lane and given the news by a police officer. A minor matter, but good news I'm sure for the owner of the damaged car (who was legally parked incidentally)."
