A plea from a concerned resident:

The New Years fireworks once again resembled an artillery barrage, my three dogs were terrified and it took me ages to calm down the youngster, – that despite living well out of the village.

I fear many residents experienced similar fear in their pets.It is not only pets which are affected but horses and wildlife, – noticeably the two pheasants who are always under the bird feeders at breakfast time were absent this morning.

I do not wish to be a spoil sport but I do feel greater consideration should be given to the residents pets, I raised this last year before the Party in the Park and and was assured there would not be an artillery barrage. And so it proved a super display and my dogs exhibited hardly any fear or reaction.

Please on the last minutes of December 31st 2019 can we have a similar display as was so successful at the Party in the Park which should satisfy those who wish to enjoy the Fireworks display to welcome the in the New Year as well as respecting the sensitivities of pets and all animals in the vicinity of our lovely village
