A plea for the New Year

This rather sad e-mail was sent to AudlemOnline this week – perhaps it could be used as a basis for a New Year's Resolution by dog-owners to tidy up after their pets.

Well I have heard Christmas decorations are expensive, but iif you take a lovely walk down Sparrowy Spout between Bunsley Bank & lLonghill lane you will see decorations like you have never seen before!

Some Dog walkers pick their Pooch excrement, put it in plastic bags and either throw it into the hedge or hang it on the trees.

I have asked the Parish Council for signs to no avail. The Parish council secretary had seen it for herself a while ago, and the Bridleway people only use a contractor to strim the grass and hedge, splattering the excrement only further afield.

Perhaps this is now part of the Beautiful British countryside: we are so lucky!

What can we do? I have asked for signage but no response.

Ramblers Beware!
