Playing field decision

The Parish Council took the momentous decision at the Parish Council last night to accept the offer from Cheshire East that Audlem should take over ownership of the playing field (including the childrens' play area, but not the tennis courts) on a 99 year lease. The ownership will be in conjunction with the Fields in Trust organisation.

This decision was passed unanimously. There is still some detailed discussion on matters of detail required, but in principle this should bring to a conclusion an issue which has been discussed and debated for several years.

A second proposal, that the Parish Council should take over the Car Park on a 30 year lease was rejected unanimously, after several councillors expressed the view that it made no sense financially.
