Playground revamp almost complete

I write on behalf of the Audlem Parish Council Playground sub-committee to say that the playground revamp is almost complete with the super new climbing frame installed and pathways laid.

The contractors hope to turf the exposed soil areas today (Friday), weather permitting. There is a slight problem with the gate opening onto the new footway but hopefully Cheshire East will remedy that in due course.

I met the council's playground manager Chris Lawson at the site today and he was greatly impressed with the quality and design of the new equipment, so much so that he gave me his camera and requested I take a photograph of him at the top of it! A small price to pay for his help and support.

Once all work is complete it will be opened for play and we hope to obtain the services of Her Worship the Mayor, to conduct a formal opening at which we can properly thank the Council and WREN, the Waste Recycling people for their very generous funding of the project.
