Ed: we recently received this from a local resident whose details we can provide upon request
Cheshire East Council has received a full planning application based on the previously approved outline application for two houses in The Salford, to the side of Mill Lane.
The full application is again for two houses however, the second plot (pictured ) is significantly larger than the houses in the original outline application.
Should the full application be approved unchanged, one of the Villages most iconic buildings, The Mount, would be hidden from view behind a new build, double story garage and master bedroom!
Occupying a high position and visible from the Woore Road, the Salford and 'Rabbit Hill' public footpath, a building dating from 1856 which contributes to Audlem's renowned character, will be obscured behind another large four bedroom new build house.
With access having already been determined, The Cheshire East Planning Officer will also need to carefully consider the flood risk given the recent flooding in the area, the housing requirement in terms of type and size and the impact of the design on the neighbouring conservation area.
