Chris Lewis was fascinated by a Homepage photograph by Geoff Smethurst – the top photo – on Audlem Online with the village's secret flock of penguins being eyed up by a polar bear – possibly the only place in the world where this could happen!

Chris writes: "I see some penguins appeared on the tow path recently. I thought you might like some in their natural habitat in the Falklands, taken in January 2009.

"The Rockhoppers are waiting to share our picnic. The two KIng penguins are discussing the appearance of the few visitors they see at Volunteer Point." (You may need to scroll down a little for this shot)
