Parking on the Square

Isn't it about time something was done about the irresponsible parking in this village? I enclose a photo of an elderly joker in a Jag who left his car on double yellow lines and the pavement in the village centre while he popped off to do some shopping.

He parked illegally on a dangerous and busy corner outside St James despite there being an empty parking space not 10 feet behind. I wouldn't have bothered to take the photo if he'd been the only one but several drivers daily – mostly the elderly I notice – treat this piece of pavement as their private car park despite the obvious dangers.

I've airbrushed out the number plate to spare his blushes. In a perfect world I'd publish the photos of him smirking at me as he returned to his car. If this is the sort of anti-social behaviour we can expect from the elderly what right have we to complain about youngsters?

What about some well placed flower tubs to stop this sort of thing? This piece of pavement is an ideal spot for flower displays and would curb this dangerous and illegal practice for good. Why has it not been done already I wonder?
