Obviously the primary item of interest at the Parish Council meeting on Monday evening was the decision to negotiate with Cheshire East to acquire the Playing field, play area, tennis courts, and car park.

However, other business was covered some of which may be of interest to our readers.

Chair Heather Jones confirmed that community awards had been received for

Methodist Church garden ( thanks to ADAS)
Audlem on Line for best website
Hankelow village for villages of < 400 people
Audlem village for villages 1000 – 2500
ADAS were awarded a Silver Gilt for floral displays

The Neighbourhood Plan Steering committee have had their first meeting with a Cheshire East Representative present for guidance.The target is to formulate plans before Christmas and come back to residents with areas included for discussion.
Since the Plan has to be evidence based the administration load is estimated at 150 Hrs at £10/hr. This contingency fund was agreed.

Planning
Application 4921/n for conversion for outbuildings in Cheshire Street to residential was considered. Councillors required more information from Cheshire East.

Heathfield Road Three application has now been received and the Audlem Parish Planning Group are drawing up a statement, whilst the CE Planning officers Report, is awaited. The recommendation will be to refuse.
Nothing more has been heard of a decision on the Gladman Appeal.

Finance
Chair Heather jones announced Finance Officer has decided to retire an the Council wished to recognise his service to the community with a vote of thanks.
Kirstin Nixon will propose a transitional arrangement until a new Finance Officer is appointed.

Copthorne Drive Bench
Councillor reported on the proposal to site a bench on the corner of Copthorne drive at the top of the hill going out to Whitchurch. Strong concerns from local residents were expressed at an on site meeting with which Councillor was inclined to agree. He is exploring alternative sites at corner Moorsfield/Matthews Way or the other side of Copthorne drive.

A small grant application had been received from the Scout and Guide Hall.

No application had been received for the Parish Council vacancy. A new general advert will be published.
