The annual RNLI fundraising festival, which Overwater marina has hosted since 2010, and each year has grown bigger and better, took place on the weekend of September 8th & 9th.
The weekend began with the 3rd Annual Autumn Boatshare4U show on Saturday and, despite a rather wet day, several shares were sold.
The evening festivities began with a free to enter night of musical entertainment from The Funky Choir and the fabulous soul and Motown singer Geoff Ray, a great night was had by all.
On Sunday, the RNLI family fun-day offered a wide range of activities from the always very popular dog show, to ferret racing and a chance to try out some archery skills. This year also saw the return of the much loved Audlem Raft Race. Ten rafts took part in the hotly contested battle which was watched by over a thousand visitors.
An extra special treat this year was the involvement of the Rhyl RNLI crew who offered an insight into their lifesaving equipment, with demos of line throwing and an on-the-water demonstration of their in-shore boat's capabilities.
Also providing demos, were the very popular Get Hooked-On Fishing team and the Canal and River Trust with their Get Fishing campaign.
Janet and Angus Maughan, Overwater Marina's owners, said
"We are delighted with the weekend's activities. The work the volunteers and Overwater staff put into creating such a special weekend should not be without mention and we feel very humble to be helping in raising money for such a fantastic cause."
