We are excited that we have at last found a source of good quality organic vegetables.

As we go into Autumn, we will be selling potatoes, carrots and onions to start at Hoc's Fat Pigeon.

Since we opened, we have often been asked about selling organic vegetables. Well, we are in our third year, so we haven't rushed into this, mainly because fresh vegetables were available in the village, but also because we could not find a local, reliable source of organic vegetables.

In the last couple weeks though, we have been introduced to a network of Organic producers by a good friend of ours who we approached over 12 months ago.

At the time there was a network of organic producers who could produce and distribute produce around the UK, and this has now started to filter through to smaller retail outlets.  This is good news for us because we can collect a range of quality organic vegetables from our local farm wholesaler.

So, for all our customers who have waited patiently, this week we have an initial supply of potatoes, carrots and onions and over the next few weeks we will look to expand the range of produce.

Unfortunately our new scales will be a little longer in arriving, until then we can sell on our traditional Salter scales (Ibs), or we can sell by the bag.

Here's to plenty of good stews......Ian H
