Crewe Community Fire Station is throwing open its doors this today for a free open day which promises plenty of action and excitement for all the family.

The event takes place at the fire station on Crewe Road on Sunday August 21 from 11am-4pm and there will be plenty of drama when crews re-enact a rescue following a road traffic collision.

The ever popular chip pan fire demonstration will also used to highlight the dangers around using chip pans and for the children there will be activities to keep them entertained, including a smoke tent and the Firefighter's Charity stall.

Organiser Crew Manager Dave Baylay, said: "We're really looking forward to showing residents around the fire station and highlighting how their community fire station works hard to keep them safe.
"This is a free event and there will be something for everyone so please come along and say hello."

Refreshments will also be available to buy.
