When I was interviewed for my first teaching post at Chelford School a very long time ago, the Chairman of the Governors, Sir (I think).....Dixon, asked me, "

Who took Gibraltar?" Goodness knows why?

So thanks for the memory. I have never forgotten Admiral Rooke's name, though the date I have, though it could have been today!

Why I was asked the question I will never know.
