Ode to a Deputy

Well, it's not strictly an Ode, but it definitely rhymes.....

to Derek Jones

(who left Audlem a few months ago and is sadly missed by the "A" team canal volunteers)

The chair it seems so vacant now, because the Deputy he has gone..
The "A" team will surely miss him, our number is down by one..

The old sheltered accommodation, well it feels a lonely place..
And we shall all miss seeing him , and that smiling genial face..

He brought a sense of stability, into our little gang..
Once we had got used, to his vocal Cornish twang..

But life goes on it seems, and we must do the same..
So good luck to you dear friend, we shan't forget your name..
