Now that's something you don't see very often...

....a bible strolling down the canal towpath.

This was sported by two of the walkers in the 10 kilometre sponsored walk, who went round the entire course joined up as a bible. The walk was part of the £5k1day attempt by Audlem Methodist Church to raise £5000 for MacMillan Cancer Support. There were many other somewhat bizarre costumes, all theoretically on a biblical theme (although quite whose bible was sometimes a bit open to doubt).

Perhaps the most interesting costumes were those worn by one lady who went as Eve with appropriate fig-leaves, and, some way after her in the walk, a gentleman similarly attired as Adam. History does not record what (if anything) happened when they met up later, but the local shops did notice a marked run on apples just before lunchtime.

The walk is expected to have raised an amount not far short of £2000, a very significant contribution to the total target of £5000, and an event enjoyed by all participants.
