November canal concerns

There is concern that Audlem – and the Overwater Marina – is effectively going to be completely isolated from the Four Counties Ring for the whole of the month of November. 


There are stoppages proposed for the locks in Audlem and at Bridge 92 in Nantwich which will mean no visitors, passing trade or winter moorers to Audlem below the locks to Audlem for the whole month. 


In the past British Waterways have always tried to maintain a route either north or south open on the main line by staggering the work. 


The stoppages are now in the 2nd part of the consultation process – and we, as a marina have never been consulted. Has anyone representing the village been contacted? 


(Audlem Online has checked and been informed that Audlem Parish Council received no notification of this consultation.)


If not, it strikes me it's a poor consultation process to have gotten this far without going out to the key stakeholders!
