Norman Conquest

Wood Orchard Lane is now fully open at Bagley Lane, thanks to Norman Huntbach, with help from his father (David) and some local amateurs.

This now "dry" popular route will be greatly appreciated by walkers, runners, push-chair users and even equestrians with nervous horses!

Norman was primarily there to repair a local farmers field drainage problem, but was also happy to "assist the local community" – especially as Cheshire East appear unlikely to deploy any resource any time soon.

Norman's view is that there is a virtual absence of CE maintaining outlying areas' gulleys and drains, combined with overgrown hedges and willow trees, and the disappearance of ditches.

With mud on the roads increasing, this simply washes down the gulleys and blocks drainage, along with roots from hedges, trees and nettles growing into drainage pipes

Norman has been also been assisting in other local areas.

When "unplugged" the lake disappeared in minutes!
