The NHS App _ How it can help

The NHS is promoting the NHS app on a national level to help everyone access their health information and access their GP surgery more easily. The App is simple to use and easy to navigate and allows you to:

• 1. Book GP appointments without having to phone the surgery.
• 2. Order repeat prescriptions quickly and easily.
• 3. Access your medical records – if you want to find out what your latest blood result is or to access a letter from a consultant, it should all be there.
• 4. The App is starting to allow patients to access, rearrange or cancel hospital appointments as well. Not all hospitals are signed up yet, but they will be soon.

Using the NHS app will also help us as a practice, freeing up our receptionists (and the phone lines!) for more urgent queries, reducing the administration burden and saving large amounts of GP time on administration.

To access the NHS App you first download it from your App store. There is then a simple identify verification process (using photo ID eg passport, driver's license) and then you will be able to access all aspects of the App.

Please download the App and give it a go. If you do this, please be sure to turn on 'notifications' so that we can communicate with you through the App as well.
