A New Half Term and Exciting Record Breaking News!

How lovely it has been to welcome the children back to school with brighter mornings and a hint of Spring weather, I hope it has given us all a 'spring' in our step as we begin another half term together!

As reported separately yesterday, our new half term has begun with some very exciting news about our Guinness World Book of Records attempt. Sonia Kay had confirmation this week that we truly are 'Record Breakers'!! In the email confirmation of this fantastic achievement, Guinness say:

"We are delighted to confirm that you have successfully achieved a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for 'Most authors signing the same book simultaneously'. We would like to congratulate you on your record-breaking achievement. You are OFFICIALLY AMAZING."
and I couldn't agree more – a truly amazing team effort from all involved! Sonia will be visiting us soon once she has received the official certificate from Guinness.

Sport

We hosted two exciting games of Netball against St Anne's Primary School after school yesterday. Both of Mrs Heathcock's teams played really well and fought hard against very good opposition. They lost their first match 6-10 and their second 4-5 but should feel very proud of the teamwork and effort they showed.

Our 5-a-side Football team are representing us in the finals of the Crewe and Nantwich School's Competition later on Friday – we wish them lots of luck!

FASA

A huge thanks to all of the FASA team and the Marshall family for their wonderful organisation and DJing skills at our Spring Disco before half term. It was a great event with lots of games and dancing enjoyed by all! An amazing £400 was made from this event and this will be used to purchase resources for school.

FASA have recently agreed to funding reading resources for intervention work in school as well as additional resources for some of our after school clubs which is fantastic.
Thanks to all of those families who continue to support school through FASA's fundraising events – it really does make a difference to school life.

FASA's next event will be a Parent Disco on 9th May, please look out for further details soon.

World Book Day

To celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 6th March every child in school will receive a £1 World Book Day Token. These tokens can be used in most bookshops and will be sent home with the children next week. All children will be celebrating this special day as part of their work in school next week – please look out for more details on your child's class note home.

ABC Childcare

ABC are running more of their popular 'Messy Monday Mornings'. These sessions will run each Monday from 3rd March – 24th March from 9.30 – 11.30am. All under 5s are welcome to attend these popular sessions.

This time, the messy play activities will be based around the theme of books and Spring. Next Monday they will be reading the story 'Jasper's Beanstalk' and will be planting beans with the children. Each session is £4 and refreshments are provided. Contact Lynsey on 01270 669050 to find out more or to book a place.

Finally

Our 'Learning Shack' is nearly completed and should be finished over this coming weekend. We are all looking forward to using it to further extend our outdoor learning in school and I would like to thank both Mr and Mrs Heathcock for the time they have given to this exciting project.
