Learning in a Variety of Ways!

Sapphire class visited Brine Leas yesterday as part of their science topic 'Growing Plants'. They have already planted runner beans and looked at different plants and the conditions they need to grow in our school grounds.

Under the guidance of Helen Dinsdale, Year 10 visited Brine Leas School to make a William Morris design in clay. The techniques used were carving, impressing and attaching clay. Pupils from the school assisted the children in their art work and the children had a wonderful afternoon looking at the kiln and seeing how it worked before their pieces are fired.

Amethyst class have been busy being minibeast explorers as part of their new topic and it has been wonderful to see them investigating their outdoor area and singing their wonderful songs whilst they work. I have been treated to several visits from children in this class this week all eager to share their findings!

Children in Amber class have been learning more about shadows as part of their topic and our playground has become their 'science lab' as they have measured and recorded shadows throughout the sunnier parts of the week.

FASA

FASA's 'Black and White Glamour Night' was held at Audlem Public Hall on Friday evening from 7.30pm – 12pm.

FASA will also be holding their annual AGM on 20th May at 2.00pm in our school hall.
Everyone is welcome, please come along if you can.

ABC Childcare

Lighter nights and warmer weather make outdoor play extremely enjoyable at ABC's after school club. The children are getting lots of fresh air playing various games with their friends. Hopefully they are sleeping well for you! Don't forget ABC's breakfast club for early starts.

The children at the preschool have been following the life cycle of their very own caterpillars, which this week became butterflies.

On Monday 12th May, parents and little ones are welcome to come to ABC's open messy mornings. Next week's theme is 'Underwater wonderland'. I hope you can make it – 9.30 until 11.30am.

Call Lynsey on 01270 669050 for more information.

Worship on a Farm

There is an opportunity to worship in a very unusual manner on Sunday 18th May. Families are invited to join Reverend Helen and Jules for a very special service at Kynsal Farm (please see below for more details). This is a lovely way to share worship together and I hope many of you will be able to attend.

St James' Audlem, St John's Doddington, and St Chad's Wybunbury invite you to
Worship on a Farm, Sunday 18th May 4 pm at Kynsal Farm
(CW3 0EU off Market Drayton Road, through Cox Bank and across the canal)
Wellies recommended-- we will be visiting different parts of the farm during the service. The service will be followed by refreshments.

Would You Like to Become a Midday Assistant?

We currently have a shortage of casual midday assistants – people we can ring if our regular team are absent. If you would be interested in becoming a midday assistant in school, please contact the school office for further information.

Finally

It was great to see our OFSTED success reported in last week's Chronicle newspaper and on AudlemOnline. We have also been visited by the Market Drayton press to cover our wonderful news and a report and photograph covering this should be published in their papers very soon.

FASA have kindly agreed to pay for special banners to help us further promote the news of our school's success – look out for them soon!
