NEWS: Audlem & District Bowling Club Launches Landmark 2026 Season

With a vibrant membership of nearly 100 people and a history stretching back over 75 years, Audlem & District Bowling Club is officially ready for the 2026 season. Following a successful committee meeting this February, the club is debuting a modernized look and a record-breaking league lineup.

A New Chapter & Professional Identity
The club is entering the year with refreshed leadership and a modernized digital presence.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Frank Gillies for his 14 years of dedicated service as Treasurer as he hands the reins to our new Treasurer, Richard.

Members will also notice a new professional edge to the club s branding. We are proud to officially adopt our new club logo (attached) and digital infrastructure, designed by Glyn, our Head of Website & Digital. Glyn brings over 40 years of experience as a Global Head of Development for organisations such as the UN, MoD, and Rolls Royce. His expertise has provided the club with a world-class brand identity and a professional website to ensure the club remains future-ready.

Captain-Led Excellence: 14 Teams in the Field

In a testament to the club's growth, we are fielding 14 teams across five different leagues this year. Every team is entirely Captain-led, ensuring that players of all abilities have dedicated support and leadership on match days. Our 2026 Captains are:

  • Market Drayton: J. Stretch (A), Jean Stretch (B), C. Ward (C), N. Farrington (D)
  • Whitchurch: J. Stretch (A), L. Tarver-Stevens (B), N. Farrington (C), G. Clarke (D)
  • MD Seniors: Heather Ashton (A), F. Walley (B)
  • Barlows: G. Ashton (A), Andy Sturdy (C)
  • South Cheshire: S. Condrey (A), B. Thelwell & J. Watson (B)

2026 Internal Competitions (All Sundays)

Our internal competitions are the heartbeat of the club s social life. While most are reserved for club members to compete for historic trophies, the Charity Plate is a special highlight where we invite the whole village to join us.

  • March 8: Friendly Doubles
  • March 22: Dave Hickson Trophy
  • June 28: The Charity Plate Michael Katterloher Memorial (OPEN TO ALL)
  • July 12: A.P. Gough Trophy
  • August 30: Johnson & Huntbach Cups
  • September 27: J.D. Walley Trophy

Bowling for a Cause

Our Charity Plate on Sunday, June 28th is held in fond memory of Michael Katterloher. As this event is open to the public, we encourage everyone regardless of experience to come along, have a go, and help us raise funds for AMMF (The Cholangiocarcinoma Charity) in memory of Michael, supporting vital research into bile duct cancer.

Get Involved

Whether you are a seasoned bowler or a complete beginner looking for light exercise and a friendly social circle, the green is open to you.
