Newcomers win the first quiz

The first quiz night of the new season at the Shroppie Fly proved a great success last night with twelve teams dusting off their brains following the long summer break.

Quizmaster Tony Lynch was in sparkling form as he delivered the questions in style. Among those competing were three new teams and, fittingly, it was one of the new teams – appropriately called The Newcomers – that won. Veteran quizzers Foreplay and The Only Way Is Up, Baby filled second and third places.

The quizzes, which start at 8 pm, run each Tuesday until December 11th and then, after a Christmas break, from January 8th until March 18th. New teams are always welcome. You never know, you could be like The Newcomers and start off with a win.

In addition to having lots of enjoyment, you will also be contributing to a local charity. In the past these have included the Audlem Medical Practice and the development funds for both the Public Hall and the Scout and Guide Hall.
