A new Vote Poll will start on Audlem Online tomorrow so, if you haven't voted on the question "Should Cheshire Police continue to hold regular Community Action Meetings in Audlem?", and would like to do so, please select Yes/No or Unsure and then click on 'Vote Now' in the Vote Poll section of the Homepage. The results of this poll will be reported to the Community Action Meeting next Wednesday.

The next Vote Poll will also be about a police issue. Cheshire Police are in the process of applying to have a number of areas designated as alcohol exclusion zones. Audlem is one those areas. The designation would give police the power to stop people drinking in public, and under the Criminal Justice Police Act 2001, they can arrest anyone who refuses to stop drinking after they are asked not to by a police officer. The offence is committed when the person fails to stop drinking or refuses to hand over the alcohol for disposal when asked to do so by a police officer. At that point an arrest can be made or a penalty notice issued.

Although the exclusion zone would include all public areas it would not

result in events such as the Proms being alcohol free.

The question to be asked in the Vote Poll is "Do you agree with the introduction of an alcohol exclusion zone in Audlem?" The Vote Poll will start this weekend. A new Forum topic on the subject will also be posted as many people may wish to express their views on the proposal.
