New Union Jack & St George's Flags for the village

Once again, local parishioners, Olive & Geoff Stretch, have stepped in and funded themselves two flags for the village; a Union Jack & a St George's flag. On behalf of the village, I would like to thank Olive & Geoff for their dedication and support.

The flags are each 3m long. They are purchased from a national manufacturer, made to industrial standards from high grade polyester and using industrial practises. Each flag comes with an anti-fray net at the edge of the flag, to minimise wear and tear in high winds.

Whilst made of the highest quality material, nonetheless and especially in winter, the flags do get quite a battering, and hence need constant repair or replacement. And once again it's Olive, a seamstress by profession, who for countless times over the last years has reliably and generously repaired the flags, to extend their life.

To note that parishioners and visitors passing through Audlem would notice that there is always a flag hoisted on the highest point in the village, which happens to be on top of StJames church. In most cases it's a Union Jack, but depending on other festivities, it could also be a St George's flag or a Diocesan flag.

Thanks once again to Olive and Geoff.
