New school head appointed

The following letter has been sent to parents and carers by the Interim Executive Board of Audlem St James' school:-

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Rebecca Jewitt to the post of Headteacher at Audlem St James CE Primary School with effect from September 1st 2012.

"At present Rebecca is Deputy Headteacher at Holmes Chapel Primary School and is responsible for teaching and learning, and assessment. She has a wealth of experience and during her previous posts she has led on literacy and has been a literacy coordinator in a local authority.

"To support a smooth transition into the post of headteacher the IEB anticipates that Rebecca will be spending time at Audlem during the summer term working alongside Rachel Johnson.

"On behalf of the IEB I would like to thank especially those pupils who had a most important role in the appointment process and whose views were greatly valued.

The interviews took place on Monday and Rebecca Jewitt was appointed.  The IEB will be considering the next steps to the appointment of a Deputy Head at its meeting on Monday, 19th March.
