Audlem has for years enjoyed a fine reputation for live music. Now, however, the village can also boast a recording studio with the opening of Hollow Floor Studios by local resident and musician Jack Marshall.

The studio offers recording, mixing and mastering sessions packaged with a professional 'techie' plus duplication of finished recordings and on body CD thermal printing. It features a live room, studio room/vocal booth and a green room.

Jack Marshall says: "A recording session at Hollow Floor Studios involves laying down all instruments, including vocals, for all the tracks you wish to record. It also includes the setup of equipment, if you bring your own gear, and level checking. It will cost £60 a day session which can be a maximum of eight hours. A two day session can be done for just £100."

The studio also offers Mixing and Mastering sessions. Jack says: "The session involves, if required, editing, mixing, applying affects, plug-ins, EQ's, compression and so on to the individual tracks and final stereo master tracks to give them that professional feel. It also involves bouncing your finished music to the relevant format and medium. Charges are as for recording sessions."

You can get full details on the studio's website at www. studios.hollowfloor.co.uk (The website link that was here no longer works) The website includes all booking arrangements and details of special deals plus photographs of the facilities.
