There's a change at the Bridge Inn today as Ken and Linda Roberts have decided to move on and will be replaced as licensees by Nigel and Bridie Walker. They will be taking over a pub that has been transformed this year by Ken and Linda with a new conservatory dining area and outside terrace as well as a complete refurbishment.

Nigel and Bridie have spoken to Audlem Online to say how much they are looking forward to moving to Audlem. They are moving from Hawarden, near Mold, in Flintshire but Bridie hails from Chester and Nigel from Northwich. His family have old connections with Audlem with his great uncle much involved in local civic life some generations ago. They have a young daughter, aged three, who plans to go to Audlem St James' school next September.

All current bookings at the Bridge will be honoured, of course, say Nigel and Bridie, and they are looking forward to meeting everyone. They want the Bridge to be a local pub that will also attract people to the village with its menu. They very much want to be involved in village life and, as a Retained Firefighter, Nigel plans to transfer his skills to Audlem Fire Station who are actively looking for new recruits at present.

The changeover is today, December 9th although we understand that Linda will be helping with the major bookings that are coming up over the Christmas period.
