Following last year's successful run, the new season of films showing at the Public Hall starts on Saturday 15th September with a double header of great films. Showing at 5.00 pm is Shrek the Third, followed by The Painted Veil at 7.30 pm.

Shrek the Third is the latest in the Shrek films. When his new father-in-law, King Harold falls ill, Shrek is looked at as the heir to the land of Far, Far Away. Not one to give up his beloved swamp, Shrek recruits his friends Donkey and Puss in Boots to install the rebellious Artie as the new king. Princess Fiona, however, rallies a band of royal girlfriends to fend off a coup d'etat by the jilted Prince Charming. There are a host of familiar names providing the voices, including Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas and Julie Andrews.

The Painted Veil is based on the novel by W. Somerset Maugham and is a love story set in the 1920s that tells the story of a young English couple, Walter (Edward Norton), a middle class doctor and Kitty (Naomi Watts), an upper-class woman, who get married for the wrong reasons and relocate to Shanghai, where she falls in love with someone else.

There is no change in the price of tickets – £2.50 for juniors and £5.00 for adults. Audlem Online will let you know when tickets are available.
