As you are aware, Audlem Parish Council has undertaken to produce a "Residents First" Neighbourhood Plan as part of a full Neighbourhood Plan (NP) for Audlem. The decision to do this was taken at the monthly Parish Council meeting held on 14th July 2014.

To clarify what each part of this entails for our village we have produced two short documents. You can find an explanation of a Neighbourhood Plan here and an explanation of a "Residents First" Neighbourhood Plan, written by Cheshire East Planning Officer, Tom Evans, here.

The Parish Council's NP planning sub-committee is meeting weekly at the moment to try and push this forward, with finances and the creation of a Steering Committee among their prime objectives.

In order to progress even faster, we need volunteers from the Audlem community to help. If you live in within the parish boundary of Audlem and are willing to commit to give up some of your time to help then PLEASE contact the Clerk now! Don't wait until the deadline date of 30th August to get in touch.

Her contact details are: Kirstin Dixon – 01630 658456 or email: audlemparishclerk@gmail.com
Alternatively, you can complete the online form available on AudlemOnline. To find the form go to the home page, click on the first large box headed "Neighbourhood Plan" and follow the link provided.

We need people who would like to serve on committees, be it the Steering Committee level, which will oversee the production of the NP, or one of a number of working groups likely to be set up by the Steering Committee. Alternatively, you could help deliver questionnaires, or type up reports. There are lots of roles to cover, and we'd like to welcome people of all ages, from secondary school age to over seventies to get involved in planning the future of our village.

Finally, now we have the exciting news, reported yesterday, that Audlem is to be included in a group of 9 to take part in Cheshire East's "Fast Track" programme. This means that we will receive free help and advice from CE planners and it's even more urgent that we build up a team of local volunteers to help produce our Neighbourhood Plan.

Get in touch now and help Audlem to plan its future development.
