Audlem Women's Institute is holding its Autumn Show next Saturday, 22nd September, in the Public Hall. The show will be open to the public in the afternoon from 2.00pm until 4.00pm. Refreshments – and as with all WI events they should be splendid – will be available. Entry is £1 for adults and 20p for children.

Audlem WI has invited members of Burleydam, Bridgemere and Blakenhall WIs to put entries in for the various classes, and there has been a very good response. Classes include the intriguingly named 'Article Granny Made' and entries include firescreens, cushions, footstools and clothing.

The judging of the various classes takes place on Saturday morning – behind securely closed doors! The judges include two of the national handicraft and produce judges from the recent TV show The Great British Village Show, and one is traveling to Audlem from as far as Norfolk.

An enormous amount of hard work is being put in to the Autumn Show and it should be well worth a visit next Saturday.
