Stephen Cope from Bawhill Farm, Adderley has won through to the final three of the national Dairy Farmer of the Future competition run by the Farmers Guardian. The 25 year old made it into the last six last year but that was before a lot of new work was underway at the farm. He now awaits the verdict of the publication's readers.

There is an open day at Bawhill Farm on Tuesday which is expected to attract 500 – 1,000 people. Mr Cope said: "It's going to be a big event. We are putting on refreshments and invitations have gone out. People who have an interest in farming are welcome to attend."

The open day is from 10.00am to 4.00pm and any money left over from the event will be donated to Shropshire Air Ambulance.
