There's a great film coming up at the Public Hall on Saturday 14th January - My Week with Marilyn.

My Week with Marilyn is a British film directed by Simon Curtis. It stars Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Redmayne, Dougray Scott, Judi Dench and Emma Watson.

It depicts the making of the 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl, which starred Marylin Monroe (played by Michelle Williams) and Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh).

The film focuses on the week in which Monroe spent time being escorted around Britain by Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne), after her husband, Arthur Miller (Dougray Scott), left the country.

Colin Clark later wrote two diary-based books on that week on which the film is based.

"Michelle Williams shines in My Week with Marilyn, capturing the magnetism and vulnerability of Marilyn Monroe," captures the mood of the very positive reviews the film has received since its launch a couple of months ago.

Tickets, priced £5, are on sale shortly at Audlem Post Office, Williams' newsagents and Hoc's Fat Pigeon. You can also reserve tickets by calling Jan Morgan on 811575.

Make a note of 14th January with the programme starting at 7.30pm
