My Family

He is going away –
One of my Grandsons,
Across the ocean wide

I know he will come back
I know he will -
Back across the ocean wide

He has to go, he's his own man.
He wants to go
His future is spread before him.

I wish him well
I wish him God speed
In all things

I send him my love
For he is a fine young man
And prospects await

May New York be kind to him
For me
