A number of comments on the Chatbox have remarked on the muted response to the news that Hockenhull Properties Ltd have submitted new plans for twenty six homes on the site off Heathfield Road and Mill Lane.

This followed rejection in October by Cheshire East Council of the developer's plan to build thirty six properties on that and also land south and east of Mill Lane.

As Del said yesterday on Chatbox: "Reaction to this new proposal does appear to be particularly muted. Certainly there does not appear to be Parish Council reaction. Maybe everyone is getting fed up with planning problems and prefers to concentrate on Xmas presents.

"However, it is obvious the applicant has chosen when to apply with the intention of giving objectors little time to comment. Certainly 8th January is too tight for anyone to obtain expert opinions and this deadline should be extended.

"Most companies will close 20th December and will not re-open until the 2nd January maybe 6th. This makes the deadline of 8th January ridiculous."
