We have learned that Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council's Development Control Committee approved the latest, revised planning application for Canalside Yard at their meeting on Tuesday 13th December, subject to the completion of a legal agreement to secure affordable housing within the site.

In his report to the committee, the Borough Planning Officer stated that the revised plan is for 18 residential properties (10 houses and 8 flats) and 3 retail units with car parking, servicing and landscaping and a new vehicular access. The apartments include 3 two-bed apartments and 1 one-bed apartment which will be transferred to a registered social landlord for affordable housing.

Although the Parish Council had asked for the decision on the "Muller development" in the centre of Audlem village to be deferred to allow full consultation with the people of Audlem to take place, this request was turned down.
